MFT Monday - Teaser Time!

Have I mentioned how much I love a cup of tea? I mean really.  Yuuuuum.

The tea habit really kicked in a few years ago when I was doing Weight Watchers.  I found that often the urge to snack could be quelled by slowly enjoying a cup of tea.  Who knew? I decided to enjoying an afternoon cup of tea instead of grabbing a handful of the kids leftover Teddy Grahams and it worked like a charm.  Ahem, might I also say that my late afternoon cup of tea also gives me the energy for those late night stamping adventures that I'm prone to!

So, when I first saw this sweet set by Stephanie Fizer for My Favorite Things Presents, I was of course, overjoyed!

I used this image in the January Dirty Dozen gallery, but was thrilled to give it another whirl for this weeks release.  This card uses one of my latest paper loves - Basic Grey's Bittersweet.  The main image is stamped with Memento ink, then colored with my Prismacolor pencils.

Want a little Flopsey?

When I saw Jen's Sketch for You To Try on Saturday, I knew that it was just the right layout for the newest Flopsey from My Favorite Things.  

Isn't this little cupcake bunny so 

adorable?  I stamped him three times.  Once flush to the mat, then popped up his body, and then his hands and cupcake were popped up one more level.  Yikes, there are a lot of dimensionals on this card, but I loved having him hold that cupcake out front!

The image is colored with my prisma color pencils and then the cupcake was frosted with glitter.  I'm still digging into my Making Memories felt flowers and buttons I bought this past spring.  Those babies last forever, I use them all the time......

What's Up Wednesday - Hey Bossy!

Its What's Up Wednesday!  How did that happen again? Seems like I just wrote last week's What's Up Wednesday post....

Amber's going to laugh at me, because once again, I have not one, but TWO samples for the challenge.  I wanted to do one with the Splitcoast Color Challenge this week, which is "Tangerine Pixie Kisses" but just couldn't get it together with Chives considering that Emily used Pixie Pink!!  This fun and funky bathtub seemed like a better fit.  

The MFT What's Up Wednesday challenge this week is to Get Bossy!  (To all of you who cast embossing as your favorite technique for my blog candy last week -- I listened, so come on and play!!)  You can do heat embossing, dry embossing whatever you'd like, just emboss something on your card.  We were supposed to be working with Chives, but as you'll see, I messed up my own challenge for the color version and used "Chill Out" instead.  Just worked better for the color challenge.  The image was watercolored with my reinkers, and then I added white gel pen accents.  

In my opinion, you just can't go wrong with these Annie LaPoint images from My Favorite Things Presents.  They're so fun to color!  

So, since I'm a cheater and didn't use Chives, I have another one too. (Amber, zip it! LOL!)  This is the one that uses Chives along with some yummy October Afternoon paper.  For the Really Rust panel, I ran it through my cuttlebug after swiping the folder with my Really Rust ink for that "negative effect" on the embossing.  

On both cards, I heat embossed the image with black ink and clear embossing powder. Just love that extra detail - and it helps when coloring in the image too. There is literally a line you bump into to keep your details in place! Sweet!  

The image is colored with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS and stumps.  The background of the oval was colored all the way out to the embossed edge with a very pale cream marker.  The embossed edge was left white for a little faux layering.

Speaking of nesties....that reminds me, another thing that is embossed on both these cards. Nesties.  Lots of times I skip the step of running my nesties through the machine again for that really deep embossing.  But, for both these cards I did use my tan embossing mat and a few extra pieces of cardstock to get that nice embossed edge on the cards.  Ahhh, I've got to stop being lazy with that because I love the effect.....

Color Challenge, well Basically....and What's Up Wednesday Offer

Multi-tasking.  Um, sometimes it works for you, and sometimes not so much.  I was trying to do the Color Challenge this week, but only afterwards realized it was Pink Pirouette and Basic Black, not Basic GREY!! Whoops.

Carole is probably too busy to be reading over here, or else she'd call me a cheater.  But oh, well, I did TRY right?  Besides, I didn't want to make a black cat.... look how sweet they look in grey!

My poor Prismacolor Pencils have been taking a backseat to my Copics lately.  I pulled them out, picked the colors for this project and was just so pleased with how the final image came out.  I love the precise manner in which I can get into nooks and crannies without --whoops, ink moving into the wrong place. 

Don't get me wrong, I adore the vibrancy of my copics, but I'm still on that learning curve, and lets be honest, the things just don't always cooperate with me.  Hey, a girl needs a variety of tools right??

Color me happy!

I love the combination of Paper Trey Ink's Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise together. They just look so cheerful!!

This fun stamp set is from Stampendous and I grabbed it as soon as I saw it come into stock at Eclectic Paperie.  But then, I had some deadlines, and it waited patiently for me.

This was SO fun to color with my Prismacolor pencils and I framed it out in my Nestie rectangles which I picked up at Polka Dot Plaza. 

I thought this was best just left simply. Sometimes I worry when I don't add all the "more" but you all seem to like those clean cards...... So, how did I do?  

MFT Launch Day and Fun News!

Today is the final day of MFTeasers because all six new sets will be released this evening!

You may have already read the fun news over at Kim's blog.  My Favorite Things is pleased and proud to introduce you to our brand-spankin’ new line, My Favorite Things Presents!

This is a brand new line of images from illustrator Annie LaPointe.  I just adore them. They're a perfect match for my Copic Markers

Although I love lavender, I don't really "do" purple, so this stamp set was a fun excuse to visit my LSS Right at Home Scrapbooking. This beautiful Designer Paper is Crate Paper's Katlin Collection.

I love the fine detail in these images and these were just so fun to work with, that I wanted to give it a whirl with my Prismacolor Pencils too! Again, a fun little excuse to pick up some supplies. This time I popped over to StarLit Studio to pick up some luscious Fabriano Notecards. Let me say they are truly just luscious! My pencils blend like butter on these cards. I think I'm going to package up this little trio and give them to my grandmother who loves gardening, and who is always looking for a fresh pack of cards!
