Today I've got a fun little double whammy for you, I've got a Sweet Sunday sketch sample for you, and I've combined it with a preview of two new stamp sets coming to My Favorite Things this coming Wednesday! Get ready to meet "Emma Blowing Kisses" and "Wyatt Says Wow!"
Well, as I created it, I thought I was doing the sketch correctly, but I goofed. That green panel should have extended all the way to the edge. But as you can see, truly I'd sewn it all in place.
For a bit of something different, I stamped sweet little Emma to a piece of grid paper, then paper pieced her little dress.
And instead of my normal matchy-match thing, I went hunting through my paper stash bins, and pulled all sorts of different cheery bits of things....
This little sweetie has a so many cute sentiments included. I kept the sort of clean and simple look going by tucking in a little "love you" and added a little button to hold the trim in place.
Because I felt badly about botching the sketch, and because I had a birthday card to make, and since I also had another CUTE stamp ready to preview on my desktop I gave it another whirl, this time with the new Wyatt stamp that will also be released on Wednesday.
I had to make a card for my son's bestie's birthday this coming weekend. Wyatt's shirt was stamped onto a scrap of Crate Paper patterned paper that I had on my desktop and the other two patterned papers are My Minds Eye Quite Contrary. I stamped the pants to a scrap of Kraft paper and then colored with an E31 marker for a bit of extra detail.
Since I'd stamped Wyatt to white paper, and then used a ivory card base (whoops...didn't plan ahead...) I sponged all of the edges with some distress ink to make the white not so jarring.
Won't my husband be so pleased when I'm not dashing down to make a card 15 minutes before the party (as per usual?)
Both of these stamp sets are new releases from My Favorite Things that will be released this coming Wednesday night! I so hope you've been reading along on MFT's blog each day to see all the designers that are previewing new sets each day!
You'll want to stop by Karen's Blog to see what she's put together for this week's Sketch. If I know one thing, I am especially sure that it will ROCK!
And then be sure to stop by all the girls on the Sweet Sunday Sketch team to see what they've put together for today!
And, if you're ready for even more MFT previews (three sets are unveiling today!) you'll want to stop by the MFT Blog today after 11am - Kim will be linking up all the girls with previews for you today! The newest stamps and accessories will be available for sale on Wednesday, June 2nd - and we'll be sharing new items with you every day between now and then, now seriously, how FUN is that?
