MFT's Guest Designer Contest

Before I get to my preview, I'm excited to share with you my sample for this month's Guest Designer Challenge. I'm hostessing with Jody, and we're challenging you to "Get Personal" You might personalize a card, gift, scrapbook page, or anything else you dream up. Interpret as you may, and feel free to take some creative freedom. We're looking for well-executed cards/projects that show good technique and style. Ready for the challenge?

I had SO much fun getting my scrap on and making something personal for Kim (a.k.a the MFT Lady)  I used MFT's signature colors, pink, black and white

I loved assembling this little cluster - there's some Own Your Story, a Pretty Posies Die-namics, a Rolled Flower Die-namics.....

But wait!  Did you spy the previews?   How fun are the Mini Film Strip Die-namics and the Leafy Flourish Die-namics?

My "personalized" element was the banner made with the Fish Tail Die-namics and the Typewriter Alphabet.  And um, guess what, I bought three of the banner sets - makes cutting a banner a BREEZE and they are so reasonably priced that you really just *ought* to own them in multiples. (giggle.)

So girlies, get your thinking caps on, and start GETTING PERSONAL - I can't wait to see what you put together for the challenge!

Okay, okay now its time for some TEASERS!

Today I've got a few samples for you of the First Place Award Ribbon. This is such a fun, and seriously ON TREND stamp set. And guess what, it is a stamp set and Die-namics duo. You know I love those. They seriously make my heart go pitter, patter.

The set is HUGE!  It includes all the numbers 0-9 so that you can create whatever number YOU need to personalize (see a trend here?) your very own First Place Award Ribbon.  And the neat part? The circle from the Sweet Stack Die-namics coordinates with the center piece in this Die-namics set for perfect layering.

The set also includes two double ended fish tail strips that you can use to make ribbon tails.....

And go figure, I also had a boy birthday card to make last week.  Um, hello Award Ribbon is PERFECT for that.  I cut the scalloped circle from a jean remnant and then added kraft accents.  The ribbon tails were diecut with my Die-namics  and then I stiched down the center of each banner.

This fun sized card is the leftover when you make a 5 1/4 square card out of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.  Just score that scrap in half and voila, skinny card!  Love using up the scrap pile!

You didn't think I was done with you YET did you?

How about one last sample for today? I've got another fun First Place Award Ribbon project for you because I super love this set.  The stamp set also includes this cute banner element that you can layer across the top.  I tell you, you can make cards for just about anything with this set.  Patterned paper is Echo Park for the Record, I added some of my MFT Cork and cut the ribbon and tabs from a canvas scrap.

I added a layer that has been pleated - easy peasy to do with MFT's Rosette Die-namics by the way.

Hope you love this set as much as I do! I'll be back with another round of Teasers tomorrow!
