I'm taking a little online card making class right now because I'm so seriously challenged when it comes to "Clean and Simple" stamping. That is not simple for me at all.  So, I've tried to put my new learning to use with this month's new Triple Scoop Set: Western Sentiments.  (If you read here a lot, you know I'm a patterned paper, more is more type girl, so it was hard for me to just embrace the white space.  I had to fight the urge to add a zillion layers to this card.)

Instead of adding a bajillion layers and embellishments,  I went heavy on the distress inking, and did some light stitching, and then crumpled the edges - for a worn, rugged feel.  And then I grabbed for my air tool - you might have one lurking in your stamp room too - it's a little hand pump that blows air across the tip of your marker to make a light splatter.    I'm a sort of neat freak, so I had to hold my breath on this one....

The flag style sentiment was stamped and then heat embossed, the woodgrain element is from Lisa Johnson Designs Western Backgrounds.

Remember that the new Western Sentiments will be free with your qualifying purchase of $60 or more (exclusive of tax and shipping.)

Here's a peek at the Western Sentiments stamp set:

Last month's Triple Scoop: You Make My Day will be available for individual purchase as of this month's release.  Since I went clean and simple with my first sample, I went into a girly, layered frenzy with this next card. *giggle*

I folded over my Fishtail Flags to make small, pennant style embellies here.  I think this sentiment is so sweet!  Don't you just love friends that bring out the very BEST in you.  Lucky me, I have a few of those... they make my heart happy.  I'd cut Pretty Posies from some grid paper the other day and had this tiniest one leftover.  The small Pink Lemonade Button was a perfect little fit.  The sentiment sits on a Circle STAX which nestles perfectly onto an Open Scallop Doily.

Goodness, it's only January and I'm already itchy for spring....can you tell with my color palette? This pretty neutral paper I'm using is called Natural.  I am loving it, it's a little bit softer than Kraft with a gentle yellow tone.

Here's a peek at all the sentiments included in You Make My Day.

I hope you'll stop by the MFT Blog for a full list of designers with samples to share today!
