My Favorite Things New Release Countdown - One Day Left!

As a mother of two little boys, today's post was really fun to work on!  I'm creating with the new Wendy Burns image titled "It's a Pirate's Life."

The new release is TOMORROW night, so it's a great time for you to head on over to the MFT Blog and enter yourself for your chance at the SEVEN $75 prize vouchers that will be awarded tomorrow night.  After all, you only have to leave comments on the MFT Release Countdown posts for your chance to win, and who wouldn't use $75 in shopping towards this amazing new release!

With a little boy card, who can resist a little pirate themed pun?  This set is huge - it includes this large main image, several companion images for scene building and a variety of sentiments too.

Be sure to head on over to the MFT Blog for a closer look at the full set.

Of all the cards I've made for this release, this very simple one is my boys favorite. They are in love with this pirate ship image, and I will say I had a blast watercoloring it!

With an oversized image, I will say your card design becomes naturally pretty clean.  I started with a Kraft card base and layered in some Electric Red (my favorite of the MFT Reds for sure!) and for a nautical touch I added two Nightshift Blue buttons.

The set was WAY too cute to only share one card today!

I love that this stamp set includes a variety of images, I was able to use one of the single little pirates to create this second sweet little card using the latest Deconstructed Sketch.

I've used my On the Diagonal stencil to add some dry embossing and then stamped the Black Licorice layer with Whip Cream pigment ink using the Woodgrain Background stamp.

The stamp set includes this tiny little anchor, as well as clouds and some little fish. I stamped the anchor repeatedly with Versamark. It was perfect as I didn't want to add another busy element to the mix and this tied perfectly in with the main image.

The main image was cut with a pair of Circle STAX and Circle STAX 2 Die-namics.  I embellished my image with a tiny Flat Bottom Cloud Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth felt along with a small Grout Grey button.

As I've mentioned before, throw a bag of buttons (or four?) in your cart, you'll be glad you did!  I've added a Blu Raspberry one today.

Don't forget to go spend some time leaving comments on each of the MFT Release Countdown Blog Posts, you don't want to miss your chance at winning one of the SEVEN Release Countdown prizes.

I'll see you tomorrow with another card (or maybe two) to share!
