Happy Friday everyone! I've survived a week with a traveling husband two science projects and a lot of school drama. Thank goodness I've had the stress relief of stamping and focusing my attention on pretty little somethings in my craft room!
I always look forward to the Deconstructed Sketch of the week, if you follow the sketch on Facebook you'll get the sketch a little early and get started a little sooner. This weeks sketch is loaded with layers and I was excited putting this little puzzle together.
I looked to my Pinterest Boards for inspiration and settled on a grey and yellow palette. MFT's Banana Split is a very bright yellow so I picked up my bottle of Gesso and painted on a very thin layer. The yellow was softened to a nice buttery yellow that I was looking for. After it was dried, I overstamped with Natural Ink using the Collage Backgrounds stamp. Once I had my soft yellow created then I mixed in assorted neutrals to pull my vision together.
Steel Blue does have quite a bit of grey to it, I stamped the Woodgrain Background with Whip Cream ink, layered to a bit of Steel Grey card stock and stitched all around the edges.
The next layer up is a piece of Grout Grey card stock which was stamped with Grout Grey ink using the gears stamp included in the Collage Backgrounds stamp set. The corner was embellished with the Photo Corners Die-namics cut from Primitive White card stock.
Mona's Timeless stamp set includes a variety of clock faces, the companion Die-namics includes the elements to cut the clock face, hands and gears.
The sketch called for two little embellishments, but instead I created a little cluster. It includes a Natural Button, a Grout Grey button, and one of the Delicate Doilies.
Enabler Alert!!!
Now that I've got my Die-namics all neat and organized I flipped through my flower Die-namics and selected the Fringed Perennial. Two Royal Leaves were added cut from Steel Blue card stock.
MFT offers a variety of these Cover-Up style Die-namics, the Modern Morocco Die-namics is so pretty and elegant. I cut it from Primitive White card stock and then backed it with a slightly larger piece of that same card stock for just a soft touch.
Here is the sketch that I worked from, I hope you'll play along too and add your sample to the Widget on Jen's blog.
Here are the links to the assorted products I've used today, thanks so much for stopping by!
