I hope you've had a chance to check out the recent release from My Favorite Things, but just in case, I've stamped up a little something extra to share with you today! Today I've got two pink and green cards to share with you, one is soft and subtle and the other one is bold and bright. Ready for a look?
Up first I'm using the Watercolor Backdrops stamped in Pink Lemonade Ink. These are great for a nice subtle background for your stamped sentiments or images, and gosh I've seen so many pretty scenes created with this as a background. Lots of possibilities. I then took a paintbrush and a bit of Spearmint re-inker and "flicked" some Spearmint ink onto the card stock for a little speckled effect.
I've only used the Striped Background a hundred times this release, but just in case, here's another look. Today it is tone on tone, Spearmint ink and card stock.
I trimmed out my panel with Rectangle STAX 1 and 2 - when you have both you can cut close matting like this. These sweet little flowers and leaves were cut with the embellishments from Blueprints 12. The tiny stitched fishtail and the double ended banner are also cut with elements from this die set.
This lovely sentiment, and the text strip are both included as part of Lisa Johnson's lovely set titled Forget Me Not. Both are stamped with Steel Grey ink. I used Grout Grey card stock for the text strip for a warm, neutral tone. It's such a lovely basic to add to your card stock collection.
Here's pink and green in a bold and bright way!
The Zipper Die-namics is so fun to work with. Today I've trimmed the sweater down using the square element from Blueprints 12. Paper piecing this puzzle back together is so fun!
The Black Licorice part of this layout was also cut with the Blueprints 12. You'll see the stitched detail along the top edge of this piece. "xoxo" was cut from Razzleberry Card stock using the sweet Little Lowercase Letters Die-namics. These babies are just the right scale for card making and will be lovely for a scrapbook page that I've got in mind!
With an assortment of 6 zipper pull charms, you can make girly cards with this set, or more masculine cards too. In this close shot, you can see that I attached my little charm with a jump ring, we won't discuss the disaster I created on my desktop trying to locate where I'd hidden those babies… you can also see the fun texture and dimension created with the zipper.
My boys flipped when they saw the two cards I made with this and both instantly wanted to try to tug on the zipper to see if it actually worked, I guess the effect is even more realistic than I'd imagined.
Lots of My Favorite Things Designers are stamping away for today's Release Rewind. Be sure to check the MFT Blog for a full list of designers with ideas to share today!
Here are the links to products I've used in today's cards, thanks as always for stopping by!
