Happy Birthday to Me... Happy Candy to YOU!

How did another year go by in a blink?? My actual birthday is Friday, and I'll just leave you guessing as to how old I'll be. Its just a crazy week around here, so I thought I'd offer this up a little early.

Its my birthday, but YOU have the chance to win!

I'll be gathering comments on this post till Monday the 29th at which time I'll have random.org pull a number. The lucky winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to Paper Pretties Corner Store to pick up a little birthday present from me to YOU!

The store has just been stocked with lots of goodies for you to choose from. AND if you've been thinking about signing up for the Nestabilities Now Club or the Copic Color Club you could even use this gift certificate towards your first months subscription fee!

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post answering this question... "What was the best birthday celebration you've ever had?" Please think about leaving me your email, I've had so many problems with people winning candy, but never coming back to claim it!

Well, Happy Happy to you!!!! Hope you have a great time!

My best bday... well, its tied between my 10th where my mom talked my grandfather to have a party at his country club and have a magician and clown there.

The other one is my 30th where we had about 20 of us at Dylan's candy bar. We got a chocolate fountain (yum), all you can eat candy, and a decorate your own sundae. Needless to say, we were all on a sugar high after that, but everyone still remembers it. ;)

Happy Birthy to you!!!! It would have to be celebrating my 40th birthday in Disney World. Had so much fun and had dinner in the castle and I got an extra dessert - chocolate princess crown - yummy along with a set of champagne glasses to mark the special occassion. That was a good vacation and birthday. Hubby surprised me and bought me a gold mickey charm on my birthday. Yes I'm a huge Disney fan!!!!!

So far everyone's comments have been about tame birthday celebrations...since we've been friends now for roughly 15 years I'd say that any birthday I've spent with you my darling friend has been wonderful.

Even if some of them included me sliding down the bathroom wall at Houlihan's at not even 10 pm. ;)

Somehow I was blessed beyond blessed to end up with such wonderful friends.

I love you my darling friend. And we'll celebrate your birthday properly after the wedding festivities are all said and done.

SMOOCH!

(oh and don't count me in on the candy since i was lucky enough to win the last time!)

love you madly...

Happy birthday to you! I have to say my favorite birthday was the one when I turned 30. Friends and family came from all over for a weekend of fun, barbecue, and of course, cake! Or the one when I was living so far away from my family and my fiance (now dh) flew my best friend in for the weekend and we got to go to a Dave Matthews Band concert. Thanks for sharing!

the day I turned 18, I celebrated by moving out! I have not done anything since but it was that one that meant the most-I could vote, drink, and live by myself. Woo hoo!

My favorite birthday was my 21st. It was a huge surprise party at my college. I received a dozen roses from a secret admirer. Never did find out who sent them for sure as I graduated a month later!

Happy Birthday. One of my best birthdays was last year in Disney World with my hubby, son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters. There's nothing like the Magic Kingdom!

My best birthday celebration was for my 30th birthday. I told my husband that I he'd never be able to pull off a real surprise party, but he did! It was amazing...and very embarrassing to walk into Red Robin and have a bunch of my friends there to wish me a happy birthday!! waldee@juno.com

Happy birthday to you! I think MY best birthday celebration was this last year. My parents were visiting and so my hubby and I got to have a weekend away by ourselves and left our DD home with Nana and Grampy. We went to Barcelona, and had an incredible time. My bday was spent walking along the beach and eating Paella down there, then having an incredible dinner in a 12th century castle. It was perfect!!!

My favorite birthday was one where I was an adult and my grown daughters and husband took me to TGIF's and unbeknownst to me told them it was my birthday. The came and sang and tied balloons all over me. I had balloons tied to strands of hair, on my fingers, around an ear and just everywhere you can imagine. I had to walk through the restaurant and through the mall like that. It was really more funny looking back at it than that night as I was a little more than embarrassed.

My favorite birthday celebration would have to be when I was about 4 years old. Yes, I can still remember it well! My grandpa put on a pig roast just for my birthday (which was a big deal since they didn't have that much money). When my birthday came around, tons of people showed up for my party and my grandfather was bewildered and surprised to see so many people come. Little did he know that I invited half the town to come to my "little" party! I'll never forget that day!

My best b-day ever would have to be my first with the love of my life. Now my husband, he makes me forget that every year I am actually a year older. Our relationship keeps me young. staarn3@epix.net

Honestly- I don't know that I have a favorite birthday celebration but one birthday I will always remember was when I was younger my family didn't have much money and my parents still wanted me to have a nice b-day. So, they packed up my sister and I and drove us to my grandparents- they didn't tell us where we were going and we were almost there before I realized.

Happy Birthday- I'm loving seeing your work with PP- you are inspiring me to get busy!

Happy birthday!

I'm not sure what I'd consider my best birthday celebration... one that I enjoyed immensely, though, was when a bunch of friends and I hit the local comedy club for an evening out. It was so fun!

Well Happy Birthday to you and how sweet of you! I had fun doing the same thing on my birthday this year too!

My fav birthday...hard one, but it might have been my 30th when I got a whole bunch of friends together at this Afghan restaurant and we sat around on the floor and drank and ate and laughed! Then we went back to a friend's place and they'd made me a cake that looked like a blackboard (I'm a teacher!). Fun!
Cheers,

So SO glad you were born, Jo!! And thanks for including us all in the celebration!
I loved my 30th birthday celebration at a fancy restaurant in Providence with friends and then a night in a hotel with my hubby. Great to be away from the (then) kid...although we did get up early, scarfed down room serve and flew home because we were nervous to be away from her! :) Ah, if I had the chance now...

Happy Birthday Joanne! I actually have a birthday week just to make sure I get the full treatment.
I mean if your real birthday falls on a Monday and everyone is too busy or tired to celebrate, that stinks, so I stretch it out and pull the ole "I get my way cuz its my birthday week." (Trust me, getting my way ONLY happens one week out of the year, so I have to enjoy it.)
Enjoy your birthday week!

I haven't really thought about the best one, but I guess you could say when my mother threw me a surprise 40th party the week before my birthday.

and, the year I turned 22 was the last birthday i had with my father who passed away 5 days after at the age of 41.

My best b-day celebration was when my nephew spent two weeks in August with us when he was seven or eight. We don't have childern of our own so he is kinda my surrogate kiddo.
On my b-day he woke my husband up early and told him he wanted to buy Aunt Kathi a present. After breakfast the two went shopping. The gift was wonderful but the story of how it came to be touches me to this day. He refused to use any money from his uncle. My nephew used all his own money, about seven bucks, and picked the earring/necklace set out all by himself. I am tearing up right now because of his unselfish giving and just plain old beautiful heart. He's almost 13 and has, of course, changed a bit. But I will always have the memory of that little boy, big eyes shinning as he handed me that small package. He was so proud he bought it with his own money and chose it all by himself. Nothing can ever take that memory from my heart and I cherish it every August 16th...my birthday.

Best birthday celebration would have to have been the sweet 16. My mom was addiment that I was NOT getting my learners permit, no matter how hard I pleaded....but low and behold, there in my bday card was the signed paperwork for the permit....I was on cloud nine! :) Oh to be back to 16 again, knowing what I know now of course...LOL

I hope you enjoy your birthday. Celebrate safely!

Happy Birthday!!
My birthday falls on December 1 and we've made it a family tradition that our Christmas tree goes up on my birthday. So instead of it being my birthday (which isn't so good), it symbolizes the start of the Christmas season (which I love!) I really enjoy pulling out the Christmas decorations and putting them on the tree. We normally have Christmas music playing - it's alot of fun!

My 2006 birthday started out pretty bad because I was in the hospital having surgery. But it was also at the same time as the NFL football playoffs. I lay in the hospital bed watching the division playoff and our team, the Seattle Seahawks, won their division & for the 1st time was going to the Superbowl! Then to top it off, my son was able to get tickets to go to the Superbowl & was on our local news station talking about the game. I watched him on TV with several of my sweet nurses, and it was the best birthday I ever remember:)
