MFT's July Release - Teasers and our Guest Designer Contest!

Let the Teasers BEGIN for the upcoming July Release at My Favorite Things!

Our next release is July 5th and the MFT Design Team will be bringing you previews of our upcoming stamp sets and Die-namics dies - are you ready for the fun to begin?
Today I've got a sample of the new You Move Me stamp set and Die-namics! I put together a fun little card for my son - there are an assortment of fonts in this set, but me, I love this open one because I can color in the words. FUN! I've added a little felted banner to the top - and a felted puffy cloud. I {heart} that the stamp set includes teeny tiny dies - like these mini clouds and this fun mini rocket!

Isn't this giant label die as part of this set fabulous?

Today is the day that we're also announcing our latest Guest Designer Contest.

The winner of this contest will win over $100 in stamp sets AND have the opportunity to play along with the design team for the August release and all the Wednesday Stamp Club Challenges for the next month. MFT always has amazing stamp sets around the corner and getting (and stamping with) them early is a special treat.

This month, Jody and I are challenging you to add a Touch of Texture to your stamped creation. With such an open theme, we look forward to a wide array of entries with creative flair. We're looking for well-executed cards/projects that show good technique and style. Ready for the challenge? Here are the details:

Guest Designer Contest Details:

-Projects must feature some MFT stamps or products, but are not strictly limited to MFT stamps or products.

-The deadline for entries is July 4 at 10pm EST.

-When uploading your entries, please use the keyword MFTGUESTDT0711.

-Jody and I will review all the entries and choose a winner. The winner will be announced at the Release Party at around 8:45pm EST on Tuesday, July 5th.

-The winner will receive a selection of stamps from the next release with a value over $100. You'll also join the MFT Design Team for that month!

As winner of the guest designer contest, we ask that you participate in 3 (of 5) teaser days as well as the release blog hop. Be sure to visit the Guest Designer Thread on the MFT Forum on Splitcoast Stampers

Here's my sample for this month's theme A Touch of Texture - I put together a little home decor for my mantle - all summery and festive for the holiday weekend!  I altered a little tin pencil cup that I had in my stash, and then filled it with "grass" that I made by running green strips of paper through my crimper - which I then rolled right up!

I found the thin wooden dowels in my local craft store aisle for fifty cents, I was able to make all three pinwheels by cutting one stick apart! *sweet*

Oh my goodness, check-out the new Pinwheel Die-namic.  Fun stuff!

I also found this fun piece of cardstock in my stash with the phrase 'Sweet Summertime' and ran that through the crimper as well to make a bellyband.  I love the way the crimper adds a little visual interest versus just flat patterned paper.

You see, I've added a bit more texture by creating some ivory crinkle ribbon, and by running a piece of woodgrain paper through Simply Scalllops Die-namics die and then embossing with an embossing folder.

So everyone, get that thinking cap on, and add a Touch of Texture to your submissions. We can't wait to see what you come up with! See you Sunday with another TEASER!  Be sure to check the MFT Blog for a full list of participating designers!
