Get Scrappy with My Favorite Things

I'm excited to share the page I've created for our second MFT Scrap Sketch! We are so excited about this new monthly challenge! Whether you are a bit intimidated by scrapbooking or you are a seasoned scrapbooker, this is the challenge for you.

We have two sketches for you this month, our main sketch and a Project Life version for those of you following Project Life. Simply follow the sketch and upload your creation to SCS using the proper keyword.  I'm using the Project Life version of this month's sketch, you can find the standard sketch today over on the MFT Blog.

My ten year old just completed his first season of Travel Soccer.  He's had practice two, sometimes three nights a week, and then games on Saturday.  It's been a juggle to get our schedule sorted out, but in the end, it's been a lot of fun, and I was surprisingly sad to see it come to an end.  I'm even already looking forward to the upcoming spring season! (What is wrong with me? I've become crazy soccer mom!) So of course, I took this chance to print out some photos from the season and get a quick page done.

Here is this month's MFT Scrap Layout for you to follow along with.  I've used tons of MFT stamps and Die-namics to embellish, I've added links to all the products below for easy reference.

Let's take a look at each section of the page so I can show you the various products I've incorporated into each section.

Up first I used the new Calendar Basics and Days and Dates to create the first journaling card. Soccer has pretty much "owned" the day for our family since September.   I used the Journal It Top 10 stamp to create a journaling block in the next space.  I stamped the new Darling Dots to stamp onto a Fisthail Flags and then paired the Star STAX with the All Star stamp set.

The next grid also uses the All Star Stamps and Die-namics.  I die cut a soccer ball from Whip Cream Cardstock and lightly sponged the edges.  It sits on top of the Superstar Medallion from the All Star Stamp set which I cut easily with a Circle STAX

Check it out, it's MFT's new Ink in Wild Cherry.  That coverage on kraft paper is just spectacular right?

I picked the fun new Story Starters Die-namics for the next grid, cut from Hot Fudge paper and added "Soccer Superstar" just below for my son the goalie.  I used the Fishtail Flags to add a small note with his team name on the bottom photo, because I'm fairly sure I'll forget that small detail in years to come. It was a joy to watch these boys the last two months, they grew both individual players and as a team, it was an incredible season.

This photo is from their final game where they won the section championship! That made all the extra night practices, rainy day games and really gross soccer laundry all worth it!  The word "travel" was stamped with the Typewriter Alphabet, "soccer" was spelled out with the High-Rise Alphabet and I added a small red arrow with the Lead the Way Die-namics

There will be a random draw each month from all the participants who have uploaded their Scrap Samples to SCS using the proper keyword. Two winners will be chosen each month and the winners will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winner used MFT stamps, they will receive $ 5 in bonus bucks, for a total of $20.

Check out the FAQ - MFT Scrapbooking Challenge thread if you need any further info on this challenge or help on how to upload your sample to the gallery.

To play along this month, simply upload your creation to SCS using the keyword MFTSCRAP2 for a chance to win one of the two monthly prizes (see above). You have until noon Wednesday December 19th to play along.

Well, Soccer Mom, you have created a wonderful keepsake for yourself (for now) and for your son to show to his kids some day.
