For this month's My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Challenge, we are working on Christmas Card ideas. It's always great to get a little stash of those tucked aside so that I'm not dashing about for gift cards in the midst of my shopping. It's been ridiculously hot here in Boston, so this was a great excuse to spend lots of time in my nice air conditioned basement where my stamp area is.
I've been on a watercolor kick lately, and the a la modes are just the perfect size for that technique! Up first is You Shine. I did my base coloring with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers, then finished off with my new Prismacolor Watercolor pencils.
The image nestled perfectly into my Rounded Banner STAX. I die-cut a few Fishtail Flags from scraps and finished off with a Electric Red Button and a bit of Hemp Cord.
Since I was enjoying myself in the ac, and since I had my full collection of a la modes by my side, I watercolored up a second image, this one titled Sparkling Season. I adore that using my Rectangle STAX I get such perfectly spaced layers, and clean, straight cuts. If you haven't tried the MFT Grosgrain Ribbon, I highly recommend, it ties such a lovely perfectly fluffy little bow.
Thanks for dropping by today for a little Christmas in July! I hope you'll head on over to the MFT Blog for a full list of all the designers with samples to share today!
