MFT Greatest Hits - Fizer Month

You may remember that last month, many of us on the MFT Team put together a little Greatest Hits posting using all different Who's That Girl sets.

This month, we thought we'd play again, this time we're sharing different stamp sets from the MFT Presents - Stephanie Fizer collection.

I am loving doing this, because my go to techniques change over time, and of course, so do my go to tools and paper packs. I love freshening up a set with all my latest goodies.

This sweet girl from Rainy Day Friends in her froggy coat just makes me smile! And, she's just perfect for paper piecing!

I love when project comes together quickly. I ran my Die-namic Clouds through my Big Shot twice, and used one medium and two small clouds. I crumpled them for added texture on my project, and gently inked the edges for definition. For a quick grassy grounding, I added a green Die-namic Jumbo Scallop. MFT Adornmnents were just the perfect size for some buttons on her raincoat.

Please hop on over to the MFT Blog today after 11 am for a full list of designers participating in today's Greatest Hits! You'll find all the Stephanie Fizer stamps here - and valid only Thursday May 13th and Friday May 14th you can get 15% off of Fizer sets by using the code is FIZER (please note that this special savings offer is valid only for Stephanie Fizer sets!)

A Sheltering Tree

Tonight the girls on the MFT Team have a doubly fun VIP Hop for you. Some of us have samples of the newest Who's That Girl on the block titled "Top Shelf" and some of us (myself included) have a sample for you of Stephanie Fizer's latest set...."Sheltering Tree."

If you've hopped over here from Jessie's place, then you're right where you should be. If you've just tripped into the hop, you'll want to start at Kim's Blog so that you don't miss any of the previews!

I wanted to do a quick and scrappy card today, showing how easy it is to work with the sheltering tree to make a fun little card. It is rare that I make a 15 minute card, but this was so fun (and, ahem easy!) to do!!!

I stamped the circular tree top first in a very light green ink, then stamped the tree directly over it. Colored the wood with my brown Copics and added pink little petals for the leaves (I'm obsessed with pink trees although they're just terrible for my son's seasonal allergies!)

Stamped the owlies separate, colored them and trimmed them right out and perched them right into the tree with a dimensional booster. Lastly, I added some felted clouds, and a quick hand trimmed grassy border. Bang! 15 minutes tops!! Love that!!

Your next stop on the hop is the sweet and incredibly talented Julie!

MFT Previews Begin - Thanks a Bot!

Are you ready, because the fun is about to begin! That is, the fun of all the daily previews from the MFT Design Team for the April Release!

Today, I have a sample from "A Bunch of Bots" to share with you. Some of these images were formerly released as digis, but let me just say, I'm a girl who really prefers to stamp!

This set was illustrated by Stephanie Fizer and it is just SO fun. I went with the cute robot pair, but there are also several other 'bots in the set.

As a mom of boys, will be a go to set for good boy cards! I've seen some of the cards that the girls on the design team have been working on, and let me just gush a bit and say they are gorgeous! Be sure to check Kim's blog today at 11am est for a full list of designers playing along in previews.

I'm also thrilled to have my sweet, and talented friend Kerry Johnson is playing along as our Guest Designer this month. I can't wait to see what she's been working on. I'm a big, big fan of Kerry!

Speaking of the Guest Designer contest, do YOU want a chance to join us next month? If so, you won't want to miss the chance to play along in the monthly Guest Designer challenge. The winner will receive the full May release, and will join us for previews! Put yourself to the test and stamp up something brilliant for the challenge. The submissions continue to blow me away each month!

Jessie is our hostess this month, you'll look for the challenge to be posted on her blog, and the MFT Forum on Splitcoast as well. The challenge will close on Tuesday night, so get going!!

MFT Previews - Cool Yule

Welcome back! As promised, I've got another preview of an upcoming set from My Favorite Things Stamps for you today! I told you, there's a LOT that's new this month!

I can't believe that the possibility of snow is on the forecast for later this week. I'm in full denial. Maybe, just maybe, a little winter themed stamping will get me in the spirit? Lets hope!!

This adorable striped patterned paper reminded me of Hannah Anderson clothes, oh, how I loved dressing my boys in those pj's when they were littler.

Today I've got a preview of a new set called "Cool Yule" and I adore all the sweet little polar companions in this set. (even, if I'm not a fan of arctic temps!)

I stamped the image of the frozen pond to a piece of patterned paper and then colored the pond a few shades darker with my Copic marker. Now, you won't get the best results with your Copic markers on patterned paper, but since I wasn't going for fine detail, it was just fine. Then I coated the pond with Diamond Glaze and set it aside to dry (overnight....) Meanwhile I stamped my penguin to a Paper Panel, colored with copics and cut him out. I paper pieced his little hat with some coordinating designer paper.

The next day, once my Diamond Glaze had dried I reached for my chunky glass glitter which is fantastic for snowy scenes and had fun adding lots of snow to my scene. I'm fine with snow on paper, just not in my driveway!

I'm super excited to see which of the Cool Yule characters my Design Team pals played with. You'll find links to everyone that has samples today on Kim's Blog at 11am. If you're anxious (like me....) you can stalk the girls by following links on my sidebar!

Having fun this week with the previews? What's your favorite so far? Tomorrow will be the LAST of our previews! Because I still have this month's Who's That Girl and the newest MFT Kit to share with you! Seriously - how chock full of goodness is this release!!

Get Ghosting!

Have you seen the latest? MFT is offering the CUTEST Digi Stamp Kit featuring artwork from Stephanie Fizer. I'm totally in love with the image and was so excited to download, print and get coloring!

You can purchase just the image alone here, or a little Digi Kit called "The Boo Crew" which contains this cute poem, sentiments and several project ideas!

This was the perfect excuse to welcome October with a little friendly neighborhood ghosting! This event, is honestly, one of my son's very most favorite things to do all year. He nearly pees his pants laughing so hard each year.

And, I'm pretty sure that my neighbor knows exactly who gave her this little bucket o' treats, and if she didn't, well, now the cat's out of the bag!!

What is fantastic about this being a digi image is that you can resize it to whatever size you need for your project, and of course, how great is it that you have it right away, no need to wait for shipping!

I printed it out onto some high quality cardstock suitable for my Copic work, and got colorin'!

This cute little acrylic bucket is from MFT, and I usually hoard these babies... yikes, this is my last one (note to self, reorder!!) When I adhere cardstock to these, I like to sew my layers together. Not only for the cuteness factor, but to hold all the layers together evenly. You can *just* see a bit of the stitching on the cardstock band on the side.

The cute wide width twill ribbon is leftover from my Mr Roboto Kit as a bow around the bucket. Then, I realized that my scraps would be perfect for the coordinating door hanger, so that your neighbors know you've already been ghosted! I used a little bit more ribbon for the hanger, and stitched it between the layers of designer paper and cardstock to keep everything in place. Finished off with a felt flower and a bright yellow button.

Be sure to hop around to see some of the other amazing samples with this kit, Christina, Amy, Michelle and Kathy all have samples for you. I know Jody has one too, but she's holding out on you... go beg her to see it because its ADORABLE!!

Coincidentally, today's My Favorite Challenge is to Get Digital! You can find all the details on THIS thread on the MFT Member Company Forum! Hope to see you there!

Blog Hoppin Book Worms

I hope you've been enjoying all the eye candy that abounds on this month's Blog Hop for the My Favorite Things August Release! I always love bee-boppin around to see what everyone has come up with and seeing the sets come to life for the first time!

If you hadn't started at Kim's blog, you'll want to pop back over there, I'll wait right here. Giggle. If you've come to me via way of the sweet and fabulous Cindy Haffner, then you're in just the right place!

My seven year old has this summer become a reading maniac! He's been loving the series "A Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and has blown right through all three books. He's now, not so patiently awaiting the completion of the fourth book in the series. In October!! So, in honor of his new found love of reading, and of course, the release of this amazingly cute new set titled I {heart} Books from My Favorite Things Presents, I created some wall decor for him. The only decision is if it moves into our playroom, or into his bedroom. I think I'll let him decide!

I stamped the image once to a Perfect Paper Panel and then again to a scrap piece. I colored the full scene with Copic Markers, drawing in a little shadowy floor. Then I stamped just the book and pages again. I popped that up, making the spine of the book raised up just a little bit more for added dimension. I inked the chipboard letters and then glued them to the outside of my shadowbox frame. I love letting the letters float on the outside of my project like that.

Finished off with some fun and fabulous designer paper from my enormous paper bin! Don'tcha love making a great find in there?

I can hardly wait to see what is up next at my friend Kirsten's blog.

We spent the whole weekend hanging out together in Florida, and all I can say is I miss her dearly! And, she's a totally fantastic stamper to boot! I love her style - its just cute cute cute and I often go "awwww" out loud as I'm looking at her eye candy!

Thanks for popping by tonight and I'll see you over on the MFT Member Company Forum!!
