MFT Preview - Flopsey's Flowers

This is a preview of an upcoming release from My Favorite Things featuring one of my favorite little characters, Flopsey.

Doesn't he just look so sweet holding those flowers?  If you haven't noticed I {heart} Flopsey.

I actually had a card to make for a friend that could use a little pick me up, and I thought that this little guy might just do the trick.  She and I had picked this paper out a shopping trip about this time last year, and gasp, I'd never cut into it.  Truth be told, its MUCH more her crafting style than mine. I've pulled it out a thousand times in the last year and not been able to make it work.  So, I guess its perfect I saved it for a card for her!

The inside reads "Miss you bunches."  Lately, I've been loving finishing cards on the inside and adding sentiments there.

The title of this set is "Flopseys Flowers" and it is one of four new sets being released this Wednesday Night - April 1st.  I'll have another preview to share with you late Tuesday into Wednesday night for this month's blog hop!  Hope you'll hop on by (sorry for the pun, I seriously couldn't help myself!)

Till then please see the gallery on Splitcoast with teasers from the Design Team HERE

And you can join Christina and I for this week's Who's That Girl challenge featuring "Bunny Slippers."  That thread is located HERE

Want a little something?

Now that my design team work has grown, I find myself with boxes of samples that I love, but haven't yet been able to part with.  Clearly, I can't keep them all, and I thought that some of you might be interested.

To that end, I've started an Etsy store to help clear some shelf space around here.  Look at this sweet banner that Sara created for me to use over there, isn't she the best???

All of the items I'm posting are one of a kind, unique items that I've created either as concept designs for product launches, or for weekly challenges that I participate in.

If you have any interest, you can see what's available for sale at "Just a Little Something"

I'll be adding more items in the next few days.  Thanks for looking and have a great night!

Watercolored Iris

After Cindy's fantastic class on watercoloring at Stamp New England, I was excited to come home grab a Ninji waterbrush, and play with Elegant Flowers from the Gina K Stamp TV Floral Frenzy kit.

I stamped the image to watercolor paper with Stazon Ink and then got to work. The only problem was that I didn't have any purple or deep blue inks for watercoloring the image.

However, I simply adore browsing for inspiration on Flickr, so lucky for me, I was able to find an inspiration piece of an iris in exactly my favorite color.  PINK!

I love that with the variety of images in the Floral Frenzy kit you can find an image to suit just about any technique you're wanting to play with.  Its Wednesday, which means that Gina has a new episode and a new technique to share over on Stamp TV.  Have you been following along?  I am so excited that we're already over 3,000 members in such a short amount of time. Isn't that incredible? Although given the amazing quality of the videos, Gina's legendary service and of course, her super cute little smile, I'm not in the least bit surprised!

I hope you'll join me over on Stamp TV - don't forget, every week day brings a new challenge, each with the chance at a free stamp set for one lucky winner! Hope to see you there!

TCP on a Tuesday

When I saw the most recent set of releases from The Cat's Pajamas I had an instant favorite, and it is that adorable Poochie, "Driving Mr. Carrot" is that ever cute or WHAT?

Then this weekend, I realized happened across this adorable mat stack from K&Co, and instantly, I knew that the colors would be simply perfect for The Cat's Pajamas.

I paper pieced the carrot, leaves and the sweater for poochie, the leaves are actually popped up and pulled forward a little for some extra dimension.

I'm so excited that Alma will be here in Boston this weekend, she's just **the sweetest***!  Be sure to head on over to visit the TCP girls today. I'm not sure who's up as the hostess for this week's challenge but its always something fun!

My friend Karen was lucky enough to win an amazing gift basket from TCP that Alma donated to Stamp New England, let me just say it was amazing.  Julie Masse and I both said that we'd fight her for it! giggle.

While it would have been fantastic to win it, having her win it is nearly as good, as she likes to share! (grin)

Springtime Thanks

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I had so much fun at Stamp New England with my stamping pals, and met lots of new friends too! (waves hello everyone!!)

I actually remembered at 5am on Friday that I hadn't yet stamped anything for Today's "Who's That Girl" challenge so ran down and added "Happy Mother's Day" as well as the Spring Patterned Paper into the box of supplies I was bringing so I could get a head start.

I was able to get the main image mostly paper pieced during SNE and then finished up the card late Saturday night when I got home.

The challenge part this week is to use pink, green and yellow - simply perfect as I adore that color combination! Isn't it so springy??

I finished the card off with a loopy bow with SU's So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon.  Lately, its my go to favorite ribbon.

Christina will also have a little "Happy Mother's Day" eye candy for you with this set, and I can guarantee that its completely adorable. I just love her style.

I also thought I'd share one of the cards that we made at SNE this weekend.  I thought that since I was meeting up with all my "e-friends" that it would be fun to play with "Who's That e-Girl!"  Let me just say that all the girls that came were SO fun.

What a great group, lots of laughs, and I'm already looking forward to the next one! With all the amazing sponsors that signed on, it was like the Oprah show with all the giveaways!  Nobody went home empty handed, how fun is that??

And it was fun to have Lauren explain the sentiment "I heart my PSF's" to the group.  If you're not familiar with the story of Pretend Stamping Friends's you can read about it here on Lauren's blog, but I warn you, its so sweet you'll cry.  Just like I started to, in front of the whole room of people!

For this card, we worked with Copic Markers, as well as paper piecing.  I adore the way you can add fun details to your project with paper piecing, but I'll fully admit, I'm a real stickler as to how the layers should work when piecing. While it would be quicker to simply color in the girl on white cardstock, and add the couch around her, then technically she's *inside* the couch.  Which I have to say, is just one of those things that bugs me. giggle.

So, we stamped the image several times and assemble them layer by layer to build the scene in the correct order.  Floor and wall in the background, then the couch on top, then the girl placed on top of the couch, then finally the skirt dressed onto her.  As long as you plan it all out, I really do think its worth the extra effort in the end!

Don't forget, that the Bubble Bin at MFT has been updated with this weeks specials. Some really amazing specials in there, one week only. Some sets will not return to inventory, so if you see something you like, I highly recommend picking it up!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a GREAT day!

Bellariffic on a Saturday!

I've got my Bellariffic challenge sample to share with you today.  My friend Karen has a nice stash of Kettos that she brought home from Canada, mine are en route. Lucky for me she was willing to let Suzette come to play at my house a little bit.

I'll admit, when I first saw this inspiration piece I panicked. I wasn't sure I had anything in the right colors... but lucky for me, I do have a handy stash of designer paper.

I ran across some scraps of Scenic Route paper and decided that SU's Kiwi Kiss and Really Rust were very close matches.

Suzette was stamped with Memento Jet black ink and then I grabbed a handful of Copic markers to color in that sweetie.

Be sure to check out Emily's blog on Monday when she'll have this coming week's inspiration piece.

And, if you haven't already stopped by Blogabella to see all the samples from the Bellariffic Babes and Stamping Bella fanatics that have played along you can see lots of eye
candy HERE

Thanks for stopping by and have a FANTASTIC weekend!  I'm so excited that Stamp New England is finally here!  I'll be back soon with photos, scoop and of course photos of my projects!

Celebrate MFT!

Its the 20th of the month, so that means it is Celebrate MFT Day!

In case you're not familiar, its ust a day to show some love to your My Favorite Things stamps, get them all inky!

This month, to mix things up, I asked anyone on the Design Team that owns "Lets Go For a Walk" to ink it up.  I thought it would be fun to see what the girls came up with.

I really think it is one of the quintessential My Favorite Things stamps, and really, should be in any MFT-lover's collection!  Is it already in yours?  *wink*  But, you are of course welcome to ink up ANY MFT stamp that you're itchy to play with. Which one is YOUR favorite?

This uses the new Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday papers.  I simply adore them, I mean really, they *are* pink and green.  I added the sentiment "Celebrate with Style" which is only apropos given the theme today... I punched a hole with my hand punch, threaded some linen thread through, added a little button bow combo.

I'll be hand delivering this to one of my *favorite* stampers today Stamp New England a little later today!

If you play along, be sure to use the keyword "CelebrateMFT" when you post in the Splitcoast Galleries.

Have a blast celebrating My Favorite Things! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Blog Hoppin' with MFT - I've got the Blog Candy!

Hope you've been having a blast hopping along today through the Design Team blogs for previews of our two new sets from my friend Sara Williams!

You might just notice that one of these sets "Spring Sprouts" looks a lot like my blog header!  Its because Sara, in addition to being the latest designer for MFT Presents, is also my web genius who hooks me up with these adorable seasonal headers!

I totally squealed with delight when I heard that her designs would be made into a stamp set!  Wouldn't this sentiment be adorable for a Teacher Appreciation card?

I paper pieced the rainbow and then stamped the cloud image a second time to pop it up one level, then coated it in glitter.  The left hand side of the card panel was run through one of my cuttlebug embossing folders.

I also made a little 4 1/4 square card with my very favorite sentiment in this set "you are my sunshine."

My littlest one and I sing that song a lot, and since he's a little rascal after I say "please don't take my sunshine away" he laughs an evil laugh and then says "I'll TAKE your sunshine away!!" Gets me every time.

TWO new sets are already available - both this "Spring Sprouts" set that I've shown today as well as "Funky Flowers"  You can already find them available at My Favorite Things.

Since its What's Up Wednesday you'll also find a new tutorial and challenge from Susan - that's Sara's sister if you didn't already know!!

This week also features a **sweet** Hook Up!  For only $44.80 you'll receive both Funky Flowers and Spring Sprouts as well as the mixed jewel brads, Eclipse A2 masking panels as well as a BONUS Shimmerz (the MFT stock manager will choose the color)

I'm the lucky girl at the end of the blog hop, which means, I'm the one that has the blog candy!

To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. I'll be back Thursday morning at 10am EST to announce the lucky winner of a "Funky Flowers" stamp set!!

Thanks for hopping along with us today!  Don't forget to cast your vote in the MFT Stamping Idol. The top 10 have some pretty amazing creations for you to view in this gallery and then you can cast your vote for your favorite in this poll

Somebunny Cute!

I'm not usually a double poster, but lately, I've had more cards created than days to share them. And this sweet little cuppie bunny, he just makes me smile, so I had to share.

I thought you wouldn't mind a little extra cuteness today right?

This is some Imaginesce paper "For Peeps Sake" that I've had in my stash since last Easter.  And when I saw this week's sketch from Taylor, I just had to squeeze a little Sweet Spring cupcake action into my schedule.

This is the card I'm tucking in little guy's lunchbox this week, I'll have to be more secretive about stashing it because he noticed me tucking it in last Wednesdays lunch.  So much for a surprise. Sigh....

So, tonight, I'm making his lunch with the card inside the bag when he's in bed.  So there!  He hasn't even seen this card yet (usually he's witness to either the making of, or the photographing of the card) so it will be an extra special surprise!

I didn't want to fuss up the front, so I tucked the sentiment on the inside and added a little ribbon treatment.  I figure my extra special buddy deserves an extra special treatment to his card.

I hope you like it, and I hope my little bunny does too!

I'm sure you already read Taylor's fantastic blog, but don't forget to play along in her Friday Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I'm a day late in posting my sample, maybe I'll get my act together next week to play at the correct time! Whoops.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Blessings

Today I have a card to share from last week's Gina K Designs release.  This is a card that I made using Rupa's new set "Easter Blessings"

To make this multi-colored cross I used my Stampin' Up markers to ink directly to the stamp. I used So Saffron for the cross, and then Old Olive and Pretty in Pink for the vine and flowers.

Once I had the elements all inked, I huffed to remoisten the ink and stamped to my Gina K Pure Luxury Ivory Cardstock.  To give some extra dimension to the cross, I used my Versamarker to ink apply Versamark only to the cross, then I coated it with embossing powder and heat embossed.

I've intentionally left this without a sentiment, it could be used for an Easter card, for a first communion card or for a baptismal card. I love to have cards on hand that I can add the sentiments to as I need them.

You've heard me rave about Gina K's Pure Luxury cardstock before, but I'm simply thrilled that it now comes in Ivory as well. Be sure to check it out in both layering and base weights. I love having an ivory paper to use with my Copic markers, and for cardbases.  Between the white and ivory Luxury Cardstock offerings, I've got a cardbase to match all my patterned papers.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to head on over to StampTV to check out the daily challenges Monday through Friday each week. Each challenge comes with a chance at a free stamp set for one lucky participant, and, now if you use Gina K Designs stamps in your creation, your name will be entered twice into the prize drawing!

MFT Monday!

Before I start chatting about today's "Who's that Girl challenge" did you notice my super cute new blog header up above?  Sara has given my little blog its spring refresh.  I love that its all bright and springy in here now. Bye bye snow!!  If you like my little refresh, be sure to poke you head back here on Wednesday and I'll have something FUN to share with you!

So, Christina and I have a fun set picked for this week's Who's That Girl Challenge. In my humble opinion its one of the quintessential "Who's That Girl" sets.....

Its Let's Go For a Walk and its just so fun to color.  I've been on a little kick with this fun Bella Boulevard paper and I sat down with a handful of Copics to color in my scene.  Once the card was all assembled, I remembered that this week's challenge is to add sparkle.  Whoops!
Stardust pen to the rescue, I added glimmer in all of the polka dots, the dog collars and the party hats, then went by and added sparkle to various parts of the designer paper on the card, for instance the pink polka dots, and some of the stripes.

Be sure to head on over and see Christina's super cute sample too. You know what is so funny, we used the same paper! I mean really, what are the chances of that?

I hope you'll come and play in our challenge on the My Favorite Things Member Company Forum. One lucky participant who plays before Wednesday at 8pm EST will win a $5 gift certificate to My Favorite Things!

Hooray for Friday!

Friday, is the one day of the week that my home daycare is closed, so my little guy and I are always out and about.  Its always a busy one.

Tonight we have a fundraiser at my son's school, and of course, as a stay at home mom, I found myself with nothing fancy to wear.  I don't think LuLuLemon is appropriate attire for a fundraiser eh?    Marshalls to the rescue, seriously I bought a new dress and new shoes for SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS.  Where else can you do that?

I've been having so much fun with the Bellariffic Friday challenges the last few weeks, that I of course had to sneak in a creation. Especially after I saw the inspiration piece, I knew that my Collage Press papers would be perfect for the job.

To go along with my no nesties challenge, I used my Coluzzle again (I mean, it was already on my desk from my wine glass card I posted this morning...)  then with a craft knife I cut it to match the borders of the card, did some quick piercing along the edges.  These Bittyblooms are so sweet, and a breeze to color.  I added a touch of white gel pen to the center of each bloom on her dress.

I'm letting my Bittyblooms keep me company till my new Ketto's arrive from Stamping Bella.

To see all the other creations submitted for Bellariffic Friday be sure to visit Blogabella.  Emily will issue the next challenge on Monday! Can't wait to see what she's got up her sleeve this time.  Ohh, Karen will be home from Dana's by then and I can raid her ginormous stash of Bellas.  Its like Bellaland South over at her house.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cheers!

Wow! What a week - I'm so glad that you all were able to come and visit all week.

Today I'm hostessing the Friday Pot Luck challenge on Stamp TV!
My challenge is.... no nesties! eeks.   Hard because I used them *all* the time -  but I thought it would be fun to celebrate all those other tools that I have in my collection!

For this card, I picked "A Charmed Life" the latest release from Melanie for Gina K Designs.  The wine glass was stamped to Gina K Pure Luxury White, colored with Copic Markers, then trimmed out and bumped up with dimensionals.  I added Diamond Glaze to just the wine itself to give the appearance of liquid.  In real life it really shines.

In typical Melanie fashion there are a bazillion greetings interchangeable in her set, and the font she selected is just so elegant.  For this card, I used the "happy birthday" sentiment and the cupcake charm.

Rather than cut out an oval of white cardstock, I used my Coluzzle to cut the large oval in the center of my matting. I loved that this paper looked like a wine label!

If you'd like a chance at a free stamp set from Gina K Designs, head on over to Stamp TV and join me for this week's Potluck Friday challenge.  One lucky participant will win a free stamp set valued $24.95 or less, and if you happen to use Gina K stamps in your creation, you'll be entered into the drawing TWICE!

Don't worry Nesties, I still heart you, a lot in fact.  Just wanted to let my other tools play a little bit too!

Unity Blog Candy Winner

Happy Blogaversary!! Featuring Unity Blog Candy!

Oh my goodness, this week has been a stamp marathon for me. I'm working on samples for the Gina K Designs release TONIGHT, wrapping up my creations for this month's Dirty Dozen gallery, working on Sponsor Spotlights for Stamp New England (which is NEXT FRIDAY!), stalking the MFT Stamping Idol contest, finishing my sample for Bellariffic Friday, and then this Blogaversary Celebration.  Its all good, but man, I'm tired!!

Today, I have a little Unity creation for you.  This is the Floral Fantastical stamp set which i colored with Copic Markers and used some of my Urban Prairie designer paper from Basic Grey (I simply ADORE that collection...)

I'm so happy today because the sun is shining and at last, there is NO snow in my yard (I pray it stays that way...I'm so done with snow...)

I do have some new Unity in the house, but I'm saving one for their GIANT Blog Hop on the 28th.  If you haven't already signed up, what are you waiting for, head on over to the Unity Blog (or follow my blinkie on the top right corner) and come join us!

I'm also working on a little Unity creation for an upcoming kit I'm designing for my LSS - I'm so excited my LSS is going to be carrying Unity! Hooray!!

I first heard about Unity from my friend Jen Del Muro at CHA last winter.  You could just feel the energy and passion at CHA that first year, you could just tell that they were going places!  Its been amazing to watch Unity grow and become such a HUGE phenomenon! Can you say "hip, hop?

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then perhaps you've missed Unity's Thursday blog "hip-hop" through the Design Team sharing new creations.  Customers and Design Team members are always chatting in their forum on Thursdays - and there are always great deals and fantastic giveaways.  Oh, and lots and lots of laughs too.  They'll be starting around 10 am CST this morning. You'll want to start at the Unity Blog.

Since I was treating myself to a little Unity Love, I thought I'd share by sending one of YOU a little Unity love too!!  One winner, selected at random, will win both the Home and Stories and Feel the Joy stamps!  I'll announce the winner on Friday!

To enter this, the final giveaway of my Blogaversary Celebration simply post a comment on this thread by midnight on Thursday. I'd love to know what I can do for YOU - tutorials you'd like to see etc - I'm hearing yes you're interested in more tutorials, any direction on topics you're interested in??

Also, I've been debating about adding one of those c-box features - the question and answer gadget thingy...  do you have any questions I can help with?

Most of all, I just want to thank all of you that come to visit me.  If you know me in real life, you know I'm a total chatterbox and this place is no exception.  Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself, so its nice to hear from so many of you this week. Come on by and say hello now and again! Anyone up to listening to me babble for a third year?

Gina K Wednesday: Zoo Animals Preview and Blogaversary Celebration Continues!

Welcome to my third day of my Blogaversary Celebration!

Today, I have a preview from an upcoming release titled "Zoo Animals" from Gina K Designs illustrated by Asela Hopkins.  I've really been loving these sweet animal images that Asela has had for us the last few months. They're SO sweet!  And as a mom and daycare provider they're just perfect for all the little people in my life.

Last week, I ran across a card I had made from Asela's last release, wrote a little note and tucked it into my six year olds lunchbox. Let me say, he was thrilled when he came home and told me how excited he was to find a card in his lunch.

So, I knew right away, that the first card I was going to make is for my biggest fan.  And, its in his lunch box today.  I'm going to get into the habit of sending one card a week, it will just be a surprise what day it is.

I stamped the lion three times to have a paper tole effect.  His body is the first layer, then his mane is popped up one level, then his face is popped up a third level. He was colored with Copic markers, then trimmed out, then given all those layers with dimensionals.

I happened to have this orange polka dotted paper handy in my stash pile (see, sometimes it pays to not clean up the scrap pile as I have the perfect pieces right at my fingertips) but then had to do some sorting through my file drawers to find just a bit of this So Saffron Designer Prints for the middle panel.

You'll see more samples of this adorable set on Gina's blog - and then be sure to blurf on over to visit Erika, Donna, Theresa, Kurtis, Jessica, Melanie, Carolyn and Sharri our In the Spotlight Guest Designer this month!

This is a preview of just one of the four sets being released from Gina K Designs on Thursday evening!  Please join us on the Gina K Designs Member Company Forum for contests, challenges and previews!  (Since I've been so busy with my Blogaversary Giveaway posts this week, I'll have lots of previews to share at the party instead!) Meet us Thursday night from 7-10pm Central Standard Time!

Don't Forget I've got Blogaversary Blog Candy too!!!

Blogaversary Celebratation - Stamping Bella Style with Blog Candy

Now that I'm in full spring mode (despite the snow in my backyard) it was about time this little Poppy Bittybloom I've had sitting patiently on my desk saw some ink.  Isn't she sweet?  While playing in my scrap bin, I tripped across this Scenic Route Sonoma paper. I seriously didn't realize I had any left, I would have sworn I'd used it all! Score! Love that!

I pulled the Copic colors for my cutie bittybloom from the palette in the paper and got to work. This sweet little fairy is stamped on Gina K Pure Luxury White and stamped in Memento ink.
Quick and easy layout, which you'll be seeing again tomorrow *wink*.

MFT Monday - Blogaversary Style - Blog Candy Begins!!

Happy Monday!

As you know, I'm on the Who's that Girl Challenge team with Christina - and what a happy coincidence, this week we're working with "Who's That e-Girl" one of my personal favorites!  So I made a little blogaversary card!

For my sample, I ran across a little bit of Stampin Up's retired Designer Paper from last spring.  I love, and really truly miss, Soft Sky - so I was so happy to run across a little smattering of this paper in my stash the other day.

The wallpaper, couch and skirt are all paper pieced with this sweet paper.  The floor, WTG's skin and shirt are all colored with Copic markers.  I adore paper piecing, it makes for such a quick card, and just the perfect finishing touches to tie your project together.  Luckily I've got LOADS of paper in my stash depending on the mood I'm going for.

Christina is the hostess of this week's challenge, head on over to the My Favorite Things Splitcoast Member Company Forum to find all the details, and to see Christina's adorable sample (Guess what, I haven't even seen it yet, and I know for certain that it will be adorable! I simply adore her style!) Here's the link to this week's challenge.

Now don't forget, as I'd mentioned on Saturday - its my Blogaversary!  And, as you probably know by now, My Favorite Things is one of MY favorite things!  For the start of my Blogaversary celebration, I have two prizes - two MFT "Think Pink" sets.

TWO winners will be selected at random - you have until Midnight EST on Monday to enter this drawing.  I will announce today's winner when I post tomorrow's giveaway.  Please be sure to either include your email address to your comment or be sure to check in tomorrow to see if you won.  Prizes not claimed within 24 hours will be redrawn!!

Blogaversary Celebration begins on Monday!

I'm celebrating all next week! Its BLOGAVERSARY TIME!

I can't believe I've been writing for two years. More than that, its always amazing to me that there are people out there listening to my banter. I'm so astounded by the amazing friends I've made on this journey.

Its time to SHARE THE LOVE!

I'll have blog candy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
Each candy offering will only be available until midnight EST of each day.
So be sure to check in!!!

Prizes from some of my favorite places, and I have a feeling... I'm sure they are some of YOURS too!

Of course I couldn't write this post without a little eye candy for you too! This is a super cute new Tea with Flopsey that was released this past week from My Favorite Things. Isn't he darling?  I reached for this rich paper from Making Memories for my card matting... which is a super close match for Kiwi Kiss hey?  Have a wonderful day! See you MONDAY!
